How much does custom software development cost?
It depends on scope, which is why we publish no price list. What actually drives the cost of custom software is the number of integrations, the volume of business rules and the level of availability required — three things nobody can know before looking at the operation. We establish them in a Discovery of one to two weeks and only then propose a fixed scope and figure.
How long does a custom software project take?
We work in two-week sprints with incremental delivery, so you see working software long before the project ends. Discovery typically takes one to two weeks and produces the technical roadmap, the agreed scope and the identified risks. From there the total timeline follows from the scope that was agreed, rather than from a number guessed up front.
Custom software or an off-the-shelf SaaS product?
SaaS wins when your process is the same as everyone else in your market: it is cheaper, available today, and somebody else maintains it. Custom software wins when the process is what distinguishes you from competitors, when per-seat licences cost more than building, or when you need to integrate systems no off-the-shelf product connects. We tell you when it is the first case, even when that means there is no project.
Which technologies do you use?
React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, .NET, Python and PostgreSQL, hosted on Azure or AWS. We choose the stack for the problem and for whoever has to maintain the system afterwards, not for fashion — software your team cannot maintain is deferred cost, not delivery.
How is the project contracted?
Three models. Fixed Price when the scope is well defined and you want predictable risk, typically paid across three to four milestones. Time & Materials when the product will evolve along the way, invoiced monthly. Team Extension when what you lack is capacity and you want senior profiles embedded in your team. We decide which fits during Discovery.
Do you work with companies outside Portugal?
Yes, and this is where being based in Portugal helps. We are in the same time zone as the UK and Ireland, so there is no overlap window to manage — a morning call is a morning call for both sides. We are inside the EU, so the contractual and GDPR framework is the one you already work under. We work remote-first across the EU and with UK and Ireland clients, in English or Portuguese.
